Judy Janing

Judy Janing, Ph.D., R.N., EMT-P is an experienced researcher and analyst, and serves as an Emergency Program Specialist with IOCAD Emergency Services Group. Ms. Janing has over 25 years experience in emergency response and over 10 years experience in education. She has served as the lead educational developer for the development or revision of several courses at the National Fire Academy and various universities. Ms. Janing was involved with the Omaha, Nebraska fire department's EMS program for many years. Her Ph.D. is in Community and Human Resources, specializing in evaluation methodology; her Masters Degree is in Adult Education. She has published several clinical, educational, and research articles in various peer journals, and has co-authored several texts. She is an adjunct faculty member at the National Fire Academy.

Gordon M. Sachs, MPA, EFO is Director of IOCAD Emergency Services Group and has served as Chief of Fairfield (PA) Fire and EMS. He is a former program manager with the Federal Emergency Management Agency's U.S. Fire Administration. He has over 25 years of emergency response experience, particularly in the area of incident command, training, and safety. He is an adjunct faculty member in the EMS Management/Leadership, Command and Control and Emergency Response to Terrorism curricula at the National Fire Academy. He has written many journal articles on EMS management/leadership and responder safety/health, and has authored or co-authored several books in these areas. He has a Masters Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Education, three Associate in Applied Science Degrees in Fire Science disciplines, and an Executive Fire Officer Certificate from the National Fire Academy.
